Madcap's Power Rankings!

1. "Hawks"-----Oh wow, look at this, here come the Hawks, finally Ottskie (Hawks Qb) in a strategic move decides to give the low down and names on his predatory birds of highest esteem. The are clearly perched above the denizens of Nova now. Time to look at the Hawks line: in Bri and Kyle. These two individuals are immovable lineman, and in a little known secret may have trumped the Quest as the best line in the league. Both lineman sporting over 220, they are also athletic. Many a time my 195 pound frame was manhandled by these two—and when they got bored pushing my broke ass around they simply threw in their subs. Why would I call this tandem the best? Why utter such a blasphemy? I’ll tell you why. The hawks are hustling Nova. Like a venerable, pool con man this crew has played together and are taking advantage of our capricious blocking rules. Lulling Nova into wrongly evaluating their talent.

They are only putting in their star players when they need them, and are sometimes making games close---to guise their foreboding dominance for the March playoffs. But Cap!, the Cutters beat them! The Cutters beat them with Tommy and Strawman (See Below).

Oh, don’t forget about “Ottskie” (an underrated safety and QB Big-time) How many broken passes did you create this week? Is Ottskie a better safety than Radar? Finally, I really don’t see anyone managing a hope against “White-Night Train-roblane come the time when the [Hawks Bring their A game]. This truth is verified in the fact that the Hawks lineman can take any D-Line front 2 or 3 out with well-defined “Eagle” running plays---forcing corners and LB’s to stop em---oh I don’t know 15 yards down the field—everytime.

They simply don’t run all the time under the premise that they don’t need to, nor does it bring enough joy to their countenances. Rather, they are playing with Nova, and some rumors hold they may be in breach of their roster. I doubt it, in fact one of you--Im sure will check Ottskies’s post with the original roster post to see if this rumor is true.

2. “Cutters” Strawman is uncertain week to week as he will take the scenic highway trip back to Pittsburgh if his second cousin’s niece scores a B+ on a take home quiz. This dilutes the Cutters offensive prowess, and such lack of consistency compared to the hawks is further proof of why the Hawks deserve their current #1 rank. Tommy the Gunn isn’t going to make the trip come playoffs from Pennsylvania because of the cold, and because of the salacious and voracious sting of the acerbic and always quintessential tactics of the pussy-whip. Rum and Jowles, and now the tenacious Timmay are still a great line with Antonio blitzing at times, but they need Radar, Mcgrath, Felipe and Jorge to better hone their Defense if they think they can contain “Nightrain Lane” come the championship game.

Their losses this week were just a glimmer of what happens if Strawman doesn’t show up. But keep in mind, right now, Cutters have the most organized and lethal offense in the league, so some could argue they are the only ones capable of outgunning the Hawks in the case of a shootout. They can also handle adversity if they are down a score or two. Another quality of a good team. But who I ask you, noble reader,.... who will be that person to show leadership if Straw is absent? As of now…I don’t think anyone can answer that question.

3. “Conquest” I have to give a couple players their due this week in WB and Ty. Wb consistently shows he can catch the ball even if the pass is poorly thrown, and Ty is beginning to show skeptics that he can play the whole game without sitting out if he wants too—on both sides of the ball. A quote from WB went something like this, "I wish there were 5 of me--that would be a good squad." From a more realistic perspective Conquest does fine with the crew it has, and both the twins strengthen their secondary and receiver core.

Even more hilarious was when WB said, "That Tall-Ass youngin receiver would be dangerous if he wasn't garbage" -- referring to an Extraordinairre.

In the end, Conquest will be fine if they can kep their secondary strong with T.O and the Angry kevin.

Back to the QB situation:

Ali, seemed to do fine enough to get the Wins this week…and as I said before as a Nova veteran—he should get the starting job over the twins aka Jack Frost(s). "Nova veteran" status requires 6 months of tenure, and ALi has it over the frosts. Accordingly, Theo is somewhat bound by these unwritten rules to keep Ali in the game. Either way, the Conquest can win with either.

4. “Nonamers”—The entire Nonamers team did well this week, even without the notorious Bhidd. It seems that when the full team comes to play, they bring the heat on Nova and are showing promise for the future. Jason showed that his scrambling, is dangerous and that the team may not even need a passing attack.

Surprisingly, mean Gene showed up as well, EARLY-also bolstering this team. Dejesus, Bmar and the rest of the crew all showed up early ready to rumble and they are ready to show why hey are the pre-season champs. In the end, team loyalty, attendance and consistency is this team’s worst enemy. At times the secondary can be weak as well.

5. Upper Deckers----The Upper Deckers suffer from attendance as well, and this week like the Hawks, several agents brought up to me that Coach D was opening up recruitment to whomever he wanted, through company Distro lists at BAH.

Not sure—but the argument is possible with the presence of newly skilled players. Who exactly is this Lennie character that almost stopped the hawks…in their tracks with his scores? Tell me he did not start over the loyal Lesser. Either way the Upper Deckers get commendations for teamwork with the following players, Coach D for interceptions, Israel for the Line and Mason and Alex for both good play as defensive backs and WRs. Who would have thought the Upper Deckers would have made a comeback so late in the season? -----Did this team moderate this week?

6. Maddawgs----Injuries have hurt this team big-time. Grover, Levon Cap, Nick, you name it everyone is suffering from some ailment. This past week showed mediocre blocking at best, forcing Ron into some poor decisions. It is also apparent that this team seems more affected by the cold-similar to the Field generals. As of now, the team is counting on Evan to play both sides of the ball and someone else to step in on line while the rest of the Maddawgs heal. In the end, this team is not to be taken lightly as when they get hot---they can burn most teams. Andy Bennet and the injured grover still suffice as a lethal passing core, and the rest of the team shall be healed come playoffs---giving this squad one of the best chances to make an upset happen. As for now, they need practice and time to heal. Secretly, the Maddawgs growl at Dustin for creating a Winter league…..

7. "Field generals" -----This team should try some variations at Qb, giving Sean a chance. But then again, Mike really showed some speed in his exhibition games. One thing for sure is that Roger Ramjet is the worst moderator in Novaffl. I mean shit Roger, you got to make a call sometimes, half the time I saw your ass staring in the sky. You need to help the league out with this shit, There are no “motherships” landing on Ohio Drive so lets pay attention to the games next week. The return of Sanfran and Billy should show that this team is ready for a comeback, and unlike yall, I don’t think the team needs a good line, because they are fast enough to scramble and throw on the run. Either way you have to like that loud obnoxious dude in Green who just talks out loud---in some random outburst. Gotta love that dude. You are all going to start to see Julius come into his own—as he shows that old man speed in the coming weeks. --Poor moderation--lack of interest and attentiveness from Roger should count as a no moderation week--

8. “Sixteen Candles”---MikeyD joined Del the prosecutor this week—yep he is a lawyer as he assisted the emaciated Candles into two easy wins. MD showed he can presure oppossing Qbs as well as score touchdowns when thrown to. This team suffers from a stable squad, but one thing for sure is that bigron can play more than one position. Also, a little known fact is that ron likes to make contact with the body before you grab his flag hoping to bounce off for some extra yardage, or knock you over. He has toned down his talk lately but has increased his INT tally. On a humorous note, the 16 candles lineman—a pirate looking dude and a merks lineman were doing some funny shit on the line—cheating like bastards—jersey pulling blocks in the back—I was trying to video tape it until finally---well you will see below. "Does This Team ever Moderate?"

Extraordinaries” The team captains, and founders did not even show up this week nor did they mod any games. No sympathy for them. Again their only high point was the 5’6 dude with Rollerblades attached to his cleats---he showed he had skills again—and will likely join another team next year. Team never moderates.

10 “Merks”------ Are the merks down to two people? They asked the Madcap to recruit for them this week, we will see what comes of it. Either way on a note of humor they have a lineman who is about 6’2 who –does not intentionally cheat but seems to break every rule about holding. He also jumps around like a rabid hyena trying to get the ball. He is a good guy—but this is some wacky shit, see below. Team never moderates.

Good power rankings again cap...1 point though. The week we beat the Hawks we did not have Tommy, but were full strength otherwise.
