The twists of fate
The Stankoniforous One learned from the Mastiff himself that Conquest was very nearly absorbed by the Maddawgs during the preseason. Conquest’s line was Charmin soft and they were the laughingstock of pre-season. Due to the Conquest managerial style, absorption was averted, draftees arrived, and players started to make regular appearances.
That set S-dot to contemplating a Maddawgs team with Quest members. To borrow from Groverb, “on paper” they would be the clear favorite. This team would have the SOPR (Stankoniforous One Positional Ranking) #1 QB and #1-3 TEs of Novaffl on one team. The O/D line would be devastating to say the least. Well this got S.O in the mind frame of making realistic personnel moves to improve some teams. S-dot now becomes the S-dot GM.
S.O will leave the top 3 from making deals but they could be participants, thereby increasing available personnel.
The FGs need O/D line help, even before the controversial departure of Mike D. The most logical teams would be the Hawks, the Maddawgs, the No-Namers, or Candles. The FGs have the WRs and the RB to package a deal with either team to acquire the line.
The Hawks, to quote the forums, have “sundial” WRs so this would work for them. The only question is what O linemen they would be willing to part with. A difficult proposition to say the least.
The Candles would be a natural fit, lackin a consistent offensive threat at this point, due to defection, injury, or internal issues. The same dilemma arises, who do the Candles deal to get a WR? The Maddawgs’ O has lost some of its punch due to injury but appears to becoming more and more TE dependent. The No-Namers also currently lack a big play, big threat WR.
The Candles could use a WR and some DBs. The “Merks” two long TDs showed the defensive secondary shortcomings. With two QBs, the Candles have something of value to deal, the question is besides the Merks and the Exts, what teams are in the market for a QB? If the Candles dealt with the Exts, the shifty RB or the tall WR are the only personnel of value.
The Maddawgs could use some DBs as well. The difference between them and the Candles is they have some personnel that can be dealt more easily. Doggystyle have the SOPR #2 and #3 TEs of Novaffl, some solid linemen, and a top five safety. Obviously, you don’t deal your safety if you are strengthening your defensive secondary. Here S.GM would advise dealing with Conquest or the Cut up Crew.
For the No-Namers either hope your people heal up or make that deal and make your move. The No-Namers need one WR and one DB. They have a plethora of linemen to deal. Again Conquest or the Cut up Crew.
UD, find that big play WR. The easiest move would be to deal with the Exts and take that big WR they have.
It seems that DBs are the order of the day. The line for the most part has been addressed for most teams. Outside of the line, the DBs are the most important to the success of your team.
S-dot the GM realizes that very few of the these deals will happen, but never say never. It’s gettin towards that time when your team may not want to see a certain team in the first round. To avoid some teams, drastic action may be called for. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I really don't know how many TDs HAWK receivers have to score to get some respect in this league. I haven't seen a single WR in this league (with the possible exception of WB) that would be an upgrade to our corp of "Sundial" receivers. If you can clock our guys with a sundial you could probably use a calendar for the rest of this league...

PS Cap, is S.O. the only one of your "ghostwriters" that actually bothers to contribute to this blog?
David, as always comments are welcome, but S.O and Cap are two different people in reality and in cyberspace.
umm the Dawgs also have one of the Best LBs too, and unlike Grover suggested he can cover
