Dr. Anne's Comments on Athar (Not MADCAP)

FEAR AND LOATHING IN NOVAFFL: Public Shame, Private Victory

Waking up to watch Team Conquest play the No-Namers on Saturday was like rolling out of bed and stepping into a pile of steaming animal dung. Despite the overtime, and good offense and defense from both teams, the game was marred by constant arguing and whining from Conquest, specifically from Athar. I told myself when I started writing for MadCap that I would not point out specific players when there were problems, but since I could hear Athar yelling from three fields away, I have no choice.

It was horrible, frankly, and I was deeply embarrassed by it on Saturday when every single call was argued by Athar. San Fran had to deal with him after every play, even when absolutely NOTHING HAPPENED on the play. I came very close to going crazy at the end. All around me on the sidelines, people were screeching and weeping, and hammering the grass like victims about to be executed. Yet, despite the wild beasts on the sidelines, none were louder than the cries and whines of Athar. Worse than that, was watching him revel in "victory" after the game… there was no victory, Bubba. In one game, you've single-handedly made yourself a target for every team, and I expect the No-Namers to go right after you in Week 6.

This leads into a thought for all participating. Why, O Lord, do you bother screaming at the wind during games over calls and ball placement? There are 10 million people in China right now who don't know you, or NovaFFL, exists. You're not important. Despite your flag football abilities, USC isn't going to be calling you for a try-out. There's an hour to play, so you and your buddies should use it wisely… rather than arguing with the Moderator for 5 minutes.

Nobody can continue to handle situations like this. It is unacceptable. It is worse than any dream that happened in the worst, and most tortured hallucinations suffered by an LSD victim. If this 8th grade screeching continues, I predict we lose 25% of the current players in the league. The will simple seize up and go crazy. Selah.
