Next Saturday is the official culmination of the inaugural season. Enough back patting, let's get down to business.
The season featured some surprises, namely the N-N's extremely pedestrian start and subsequent wake-up call. The B-Hawks were brilliant off the bounce, featuring a multiple option offense.
Rivalries were created namely Cut up Crew-B-Hawks and Quest-Maddawgs. Those games were truly fun to watch every time. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned teams will meet in the playoffs unless they are playin for the ring.
The marquee playoff games are the first round N-N-Doggystyle, a potential second round rematch of B Hawks-Quest, where the series is 2-0 Hawks. This game could be over early. That side of the bracket will have the B Hawks playin for the chance to be Lord of the Ring. The winner of N-N-Doggystyle will most likely play the Cut up Crew, another quality game. If S-dot had to pick the championship game, it would be B Hawks v N-N. N-N have been too hot to cool down now even to the mighty Cut up Crew.
The Lord of the Rings? S.O has no clue, but the Stankoniforous One will be watching. If S-dot was a bettin man, it would be B Hawks- Cut up Crew with the Crew ownin a 2-0 series lead. Before the Stankoniforous One crowns anyone Lord of the Ring, the reason the playoffs are so fun is because teams have to play the games.
Movin on to the Pro Bowl. There has been much made of the West's team speed and the East's sure armed QB. The respective D lines will make a lot of noise in this game. This game will be lighthearted until the time starts to run out and the scores stay close. The difference in this game will be which teams gets used to all the different parts the quickest, and who makes the most significant mistake. There's too much talent across the board for anything other than the smallest mistake to cost one side the game.
In the off-season, S-dot hopes there will be some player movement to shake things up. There are rumors of a "seasoned" team of Nova players in the works. That would not be a team to bring together. Youth may be wasted on the young, but they have the energy to run around all day.
If the Exts are not invited to return for Season II, bring Norman back. A player with that much talent should not have to roam around in the wilderness when there is a Novaffl oasis. The big WR would also complement any of a number of teams.
If next season does indeed kick off in May, S.O would advise everyone to get themselves ready for the DC humidity. Before that take some time to recharge yourselves and get ready to do battle all over again.
