With the end of the regular season approaching, and the beginning of a potential free-for-all in free agency, the Stankoniforous One wanted to seed the top 5 teams as of February 2007.
Disclaimer: any personnel changes will declare this version null and void and will require another write up.
#1. Cut up Krew: The perfect storm. Their offense has the patience of a Buddhist monk, taking what is given. Their defense makes your offense do things it doesn’t want to do. D line is tight, LB play is tight and DBs are tight. The personification of team play. S.O Recommendation: if it ain’t broke….
#2. Briscoe Hawks: Three words define this team’s offense: run and shoot. This team reminds S.O of the Warren Moon-led Houston Oilers. Most RBs go for the edge in this league, but RLane has such a nice line, he seems to decide the hole by coin toss. Although underrated and underestimated, the WRs’ play is good. For those that doubt, the big WR Moss’d the diminutive Quest[ion] DB for a TD. Call that Exhibit A. Defensive playmakers are unknown but extremely good. Saturday was their showcase (specifically the first game), by blanketing WB and spending as much time in the Quest[ion] backfield as Ali. S.O Recommendation: one big play WR away.
#3 Doggystyle: The acquisition of BigRon makes this offense insane. As S-dot mentioned previously, who do you take away? That is a legit question. Defensively, Angry Andy leads this unit with the departure of MadCap, but they still have personnel who fly around the field. S.O Recommendation: May have found the piece to the puzzle.
#4 No-Namers: The offense is still very much the Jason show, but what a show that can be. Nique’s return and consistent play has bolstered the WR play of Jesus, proving that no team can win with only one talented WR. The defense has the pieces and the attitude to be great. S.O Recommendation: More steady play from the QB position.
#5 Quest[ion]: The WR and TE play is still upper level, but the question mark hovering over this team is QB. One runs too much and has a single WR target, the other throws too many INTs. Defense plays very well, particularly the D line. The secondary shows flashes of greatness. S.O Recommendation: Offense needs a steady QB, could use another complementary WR, and a bigger DB.
With no formal way of declaring for free agency, everyone is up for grabs. This should be an exciting off-season. As the Stankoniforous One learns about player movement, it will be reported in a timely fashion.
Note: S.O sends his wishes of quick recovery to Kahari and Coach D, after a horrid collision on the gridiron. Remember, sexy nurses make for quick recoveries. Quote the Stankoniforous One.
