Shay and the whack IFFL

Shay a coordinator in the whack IFFL, who doesnt know shit about our NOVAFFL, responded back to my truisms:

To answer your first statement. Yes, I'm sure the nova league is a fun league and we see it has some good players and I've heard it has some good teams at that level. I have some of my player's on the team I coach (Crystal City Sports Pub Novas) who even play in that league and have told me it's a great recreational league to have fun in. With that said if you are looking for a league that is more on the competitive side and please don't take this in the wrong way as I do not mean to demean your league but also a league that plays at a much higher level. The reason for that is many of our teams have been around and playing together for ten plus years and all of the teams in the IFFL are competing for bids to go play in the VA State and or US National Flag football championship tournaments. So if your looking to play at that level then maybe you should consider getting on our Free agent list and playing on one of the IFFL teams if you get picked up, or if you want have the team you play in nova league play in both leagues and you can see how well your team does in the IFFL.

#2 A lot of your players have gone over to our side. If I had to guess I would bet many if not most of your players that play in your nova league also play in the IFFL or other leagues in the area. I don't see this as "sides" were not in competition with the nova league. First you don't even play our style, second you don't play in VA or MD so were not competing for field use with you. Third you aren't trying to out bid and take the official associations we pay for to ref our games. Most important we always feel up the league early, and sad to so the last three years we have had to turn teams away before the registration deadline cause we filled the league before the deadline. I have 30 players on my roster of which over half play in different leagues from your nova league to NVFFA to Alrington, and even the indoor 7 on 7 leagues at the sports plex in Loudan etc, etc. There are well over twenty leagues in DC/VA/MD of which most players play in three or four of them, some teams play in more then one league. My team the CCR Novas plays in the IFFL (my league) and the ACFFL which is run by Arlington County. If your a player looking to get picked up by a team just go to our web site and then go to the FREE AGENT (FA) list and register as a FA, it is free and only the coach's have access to the FA who is in it. We have two FA list one for VA teams on the VA web site and another on the MD web site. Players are starting to sign up but for spring ball most coach's want start contacting player till late February early march. Last year we had about two hundred players sign up on the FA list and most of them got picked up.

If you sign up depending on how much you write about yourself you'll probably get more then one coach calling you, you might want to ask him is his team A. B or C level team depending on what level team you want to play on. If you looking to put your team into the IFFL well just decide if you want to play in MD or VA then register your team on the VA or MD team registration page. Registration is till mid march but last year we field up a week prior to our deadline. As far as what's in it for you , well you can play more football, play your weekend league with nova along with playing on an IFFL team and maybe even get on a team that will go down and play in the VA State championship for 8 on 8 football. You might even be able to help a team get a bid to play in Nationals one day for VA or MD team. If we hear back from you great and if not have fun in the noava league. Shay
