MADCAP says:
Profile on a Nova veteran, Mr. Rick Strawman. Back in the day Straw used to lie to get into Arlington recreation center so he could play Hoops with the madcap, Circa Jan-Feb 06. Immediately, cap took Strawman under his wing, creating a psuedo-military affiliation for the Strawman. "Straw, tell them you work for DoD security and put your GD hat on, those sideburns will never pass, nor will those peroxide streaks," the Mastiff ordered. Niceman, Straw immediately showed reservation regarding the ruse, and offered to donate 100 dollars to charity. Cap denied the prayer. After following suit, he enjoyed a few weeks of Hoops in a roughneck section of town. Finally, after presenting to madcap several Strawman arguments (arguments based on faulty premises) why he could no longer play basketball, Straw, like many other drone bees followed the Madcap to Crystal City---where the eventual meeting of "nat ken Cole" would cement the Nova flag football merger. Since then he has proven to be the Super mario of the league with no apparent weaknesses---except for softball prioritzation and too many trips to Pittsburgh. A veteran to say the least and the 4-Star general of the CUTTERS.

TIMMMAAAY enters the playing field .........(not madcap fools):
Rick “Strawman” Straw has turned out to be one of the most athletic, dynamic and versatile players in NOVAFFL. Matching natural talent and athleticism with on field smarts the Cutters Co-Captain always seems to come up with a huge play to help out his team on both offense and defense. Strawman was recruited by the nefarious MadCap and as such, he is often reminded of this fact by the OG MadDawg. It’s almost on a weekly basis the dark mastiff sees fit to remind Strawman about his origins. In fact Straw was one of the first players to be cut by the MadCap.
This decision was made back in Cap’s Zero-Tolerance policy days for absenteeism which subsequently have been revoked (another epic to be told, in another story). However Cap would only come to regret this decision when Strawman teamed up with the Umpa himself, Kevin Mcgrath, to form one of the most powerful organizations seen since the Uncanny X-men, “The Cutters.” On offense he has been seeing a lot of time as the tight-end with snapping duties lately but with the possible departure of Tommy the Gunn, it looks like Strawman will be going back into his QB roots of the preseason, and pickup days of the old NOVAFFL. At QB Straw has evasiveness and deceptive speed and cuts. It is often that Straw has frustrated opposing defenses by avoiding a sack with his bunny like hopping (which in my opinion is quite unconventional, yet extremely effective). He has also been seen flipping defenders over his back when he ducks to avoid a rusher, much to the chagrin of the D but to extreme humor of the Saturday morning spectators. Defensively, Dick (as he is called by his roommate and co-strategist Timmaay) lines up at Linebacker mostly and serves as the teams on field leader both inspirationally and tactically. Straw has also assisted the Cutters D-line as a 3rd rusher to bring some extra pain down on opposing QB’s. He is known for firing up the rest of the Cutters D in tight spots with his intensity and often wills them on to make the big plays the Cutters have been making throughout the season, which without a doubt has been a huge part of the Cutters maintaining first place for several weeks.
However, he is often too conservative defensively and has to be reminded of the beauty of blitzing by his overly aggressive linebacker compatriot Timmay. The two serve as quite the tandem, at least when Timmaay can remain healthy for more than a game or two that is. It is sometimes speculated that Strawman wears an unseen sticky tack coating over his hands. This rumor is based on an uncanny ability to snag a ball that most mortals with NFL like talent wouldn’t be able to grab. It is quite often that Rick has made a diving one handed interception, or lept higher than an opposing QB would have thought possible, and come down with the pick. Straw has become part of the backbone of the Cutters, as well as a central element of NOVAFFL. Will Strawman be able to reassume the starting QB duties in the near future, or will this be the fist seen chink in the Cutters proverbial armor? Could the downfall of the mighty Cutters start with the man who helped start it all? Or will Strawman continue to lead the Cutters to the first ever NOVAFFL championship? Only time will tell folks, so stay tuned.
