Mike D to Sit Out as Field Generals are Seeking Trade

The Field Generals have been shopping one of their first players, Mike D, for a few weeks according to several league sources. Mike D has been playing OL all year while his natural position is TE. Field Generals captain Mitchell has acknowledged Mike D is playing out of position just after posting a new forum topic about the high value of Lineman. When I asked Mike D about the rumors that Mitchell was trying to trade him for 2 players, he told me, "Are you joking? I've caught one pass all year - the only one thrown to me by the way, and Oaktown don't even play me much on D anymore, so how am I close to being worth 2 players?." I was wondering the same thing.

The Field Generals started out 3-1, but their record has dipped to 4-4 with no victories against teams with winning records. This team was known early for their sideline packed with plenty of players. The Field Generals have a rematch with the 16 Candles followed by their first meeting with Mike D's former team, the Maddawgs this week. Both opponents are in the top half of the league and have winning records. When asked about this weeks games for the Field Generals, Mike D responded by saying, "Sweet 16 has lost 3 straight, so that could be a good game. It all depends if the [Field Generals] captains let the players do their thing. Our team emails had a lot of guys wanting to play one way on defense, but then Oaktown tries to get us back into prevent again so everyone can get their 10 yard passes or 15 yard runs while we rush 2 and the the safeties start the play back in our own end zone. I think he's trying to lose because of the decisions he's making. He talks hard on the forums, but wants to play soft on defense. He must still feel the burn from Lil Ron on that 50 yard bomb from Big Ron that he let up on the first play of the season.

All teams have issues to work out. It's easy to point out the problems, but solutions are the also necessary to eliminate the problems, so I axed Mike D the question: 'What do the Field Generals need to do to solve these problems that they've run into?' Mike D responded, "It starts with being honest with your team. If you ain't gonna play your players, then let'em know. If you say a dude's gonna play a lot of TE, then play him there. If you say there's gonna be an OL rotation, then why's Billy always the eligible lineman or else he's split apart to leave us open to a blitz, makes me wonder if Andy-QB knew the situation better than we thought. And if you're bringing in new players each week before trying your own players, then how's that gonna affect the current players? It's not gonna be good for them or the team. At least Roger believes I should play D-Line, I guess. Someone else believes in me.

"Roger, Taek, and I all wanted to stop the prevent defense crap, get to the QB, and get the ball back, but Oakfran is still too worried about that ancient history Lil'Ron play. How many guys have to tell you what works before you're willing to try it? Our suggestion is basically what worked in our 2nd game of the season, and there's no reason it can't still work."

It remains to be seen how Field Generals' management will handle the situation they've developed. Apparently they are set on trading Mike D, but all sources tell me they need to stop over-valuing Mike D like he's a Big Ron with a good attitude.

Note: Stinkosaurus Rex (S-Not) was originally signed up to do this interview, but was too busy practicing new ways of expressing to others how good he thinks he is. He should be available again by Saturday morning.

Mike, sorry to hear about the problems on the Field Generals. Dang Mad, this reads like PFT rumormill. Hope Mike D doesn't mind you airing all his grievances!

P.S. I'm going to pull a MadCap and say the field generals should value some novaffl loyalty over grass is greener coast guard players. My $0.02
